Kristen Stewart: The New Face Of Chanel

In the past we have seen Vanessa Paradis, Nicole Kidman, Keira Knightley and Lily Allen as the face of Chanel. Now the 24-year-old actress proves herself in the modelling world, wearing pieces from the Texas-inspired 2013/14 Chanel's Métiers d'Art collection. I've never been a fan of Kristen but it has to be said even the shabby Twighlight star looks fabulous in the bad-ass, all american Chanel collection.

Gelish+Nail stickers: Does it work?

Last christmas my boyfriend got me a Gelish set so I could do my own nails.

The set consisted the basic varnishes plus two color's (I chose Sparkly silver and dark red) and a UV light.  I love Gelish as it's so easy to use, almost like nail varnish.

I've always enjoyed doing my nails and before I got this set, I bought loads of nail stickers but ended up saving them for 'special occasions' and eventually forgetting about them.

When I was rummaging through all of my things and spotted them I started wondering if I could use them in between my Gelish layers, I know you can use regular nail polish, so I searched the web and couldn't find anyone who had tried it yet.

So here I am , taking on the challenge!

The result:

If anything , it looked pretty cool.

I started using the base coat and after removing the sticky layer, applied the stickers and ended with two top coats.

Now, I didn't expect the nails to hold too long, thinking, once air got under one of the layers, it would be over. On the second day I bumped my thumb into the door and lost half of the nail. But that was just me being clumsy. All in all they lasted little over a week (mind, I do always use gloves for cleaning and washing up). Which is longer than the two days the stickers would have lasted, bare in mind that my Gelish only last about two and a half weeks, but again, that's just me being clumsy.

So my advice would be , if you have real cool stickers that you want to wear more than just a day or two it's worth a go. I'll probably do it again if I find new cool ones.

Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Smoky Eyes Mascara

Maybelline has brought us many great mascara's in the past and 

Maybelline's The Colossal Volum’ Express Smoky Eyes Mascara is no exception. When I went out to pick a new mascara all I knew is that I wanted a Maybelline mascara, but there are so many to chose from! All promising different qualities as length, volume, curl, definition... 

First impression:

If anything I love the color, as soon I open up my make up bag it's the first thing that catches my eye.

The 'Smoky Eyes' factor is accentuated by a smoky design on the lid. When I first openend it, I instantly noticed the smell, not something I enjoy first thing in the morning. Collagen formula supposedly  plumps lashes for 9x the volume.

How it went:

Again I have to mention the smell... It's not so great and lasts until it dries. Maybelline says to use a few coats while wet to avoid clumping.  But having said all that, it did give me somewhat fuller and longer eyelashes.

Conclusion:

I have to say I like this mascara but I'm not overly enthusiastic about it.

I don't really see how this formula is blacker then the classic black.

Would I buy it again? No.

London Baby!

Now the cat's out of the bag anyway, I can announce my up coming shopping trip to London!

It's been a few years since I last went and even longer since I went with my BFF Jamie.

We're both turning 23 next month so I decided to surprise her with tickets to London. The plan was to give her the date we we're going ( 3d of may) and to tell her to bring a passport and money and to be sure she didn't have to work that day I called her mum to check. This is where it went wrong ... She accidentally told Jamie!! 

Never the less , Jamie loved the gesture and now we can be excited together.

The last time we went to London, we must have been about 16-17 years old and we stayed at my dads place. We went shopping at the lake side shopping center(outside of London) and introduced Jamie to primark, went to the famous platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross, visited Camden market and numerous museums and explored the big city, shopping all the while!

This time we will be going to Oxford street which is known to be one of the biggest shopping streets in England and a must vist place for every shopaholic! I've been there before with friends but we ran out of time and were only able to visit about three shops. So this time we plan to do it properly and will shop till we drop.

Browsing the web last week, I stumbled across this really cool webshop, fresh-tops .

Everyone needs at least one statement piece in there closet and fresh-tops is THE place to shop! The minute I clicked onto this site, I was in love.

Everything from 'Crazy MOFOS' sweats to 'Hello my name is Johnny Knoxville' crop tops and all this at reasonable prices. Having a 15year old sister who's totally obsessed with One Direction and the likes, it's got some fun band shirts and sweats ideal for that age group(One direction, Justin Bieber...). When I was her age and was obsessed with Greenday and other rock bands, it was almost impossible to find stylish and decent band tees . Jumpsuits

Hi there!

This week I ordered my first jumpsuit ever, online! This may not seem so exciting but i've never had any luck finding a jumpsuit that suits me until a few weeks ago in Brussel, it was a perfect. But it was one size to big.

Elvive Full Fiber review

A few weeks ago , while I was watching TV a L'Oréal commercial came on and instantly caught my attention. L'Oréal had launched a new shampoo range called Elvive Full Fiber, claiming to increase the hair's diameter and  a formula that provides deep cleansing whilst giving you luxurious-looking body & bounce. As soon as I saw this ,I knew I had to try this. I have really thin hair so I thought this would be ideal for me.

I decided to try the Shampoo, booster and conditioner.

First impression:

The Elvive Shampoos have always have an eye-catching look and the Full Fiber is no exception. The turquoise and purple packaging make it stand out among the other shampoos. Promising to gradually transform your hair into luscious locks. 

How it went:

I've been using this shampoo for a few weeks now and have almost finished it...And to be honest, from the first time I used it ,I knew the shampoo wasn't for me. It doesn't really smell of anything in particular and I missed the smell of freshly washed hair. 

After washing your hair with the shampoo, your meant to use the booster and leave it on a few minutes, then apply the conditioner without washing out the booster.

Conclusion: 

Firstly, the boosters a bit impractical in use. It's really runny, so you want to apply it quickly  or it wil run through your fingers and down the drain. Because of this you can't put the lid back on straight away, if you have a shower rack or something along those lines you could maybe prop it up and if not you'll just have to put it down and hope not too much of it runs out. Another thing I didn't like like about the booster is that it didn't have a color, didn't foam or had any particular texture, I could only guess if I had distributed it evenly over my hair. Overall, I have to say, i'm not impressed. Rather than making my hair thicker or fuller, it has made my hair 'heavier' , making it harder to style and gave me an itchy scalp, although this could be due to sensitive skin/scalp.

I'm giving this a 2/10

A real shame, I expected more of my favourite brand.

Self-Tanning Dry Mist Review

I’ve always shied away from self tanning products out of fear of turning into a carrot and an negative experience in my teens. I’d bought this moisturiser, Nivea i think, which was ment to gradually give you a sun-kissed look…Maybe I was too young and inexperienced (read: too lazy to read the instructions) but I ended up with yellowy-brown splodges all over my body. It really looked horrible! I’m really pale and have a very sensitive skin that instantly burns - peels - and goes back to white and this year i’d had enough! This year I was going to have a tan or at least look somewhat healthier, end of story! So after asking my friends for some advice (one laughed and told me to spend more time in the sun), I  decided to go for L’oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Mist and put there claims of an even bronze color to the test.

First impression:

I liked the overall design and it was the first one that caught my eye when in looking in the self-tanning isle The applicator reminded me of an airbrush applicator .I had a hard time believing the spray really was dry.

How it works:

Really fast! It literally takes 5minutes. Spray…and done! L’Oréal promises that this spray tan laks the typical smell associated with self-tanners. I find it has a pleasant and not too strong smell that fades quickly.

Before applying, it is recommend to use a scrub and exfoliate your skin.

They advice you to start at the top and work your down. Hold the bottle at least 40cm away from your body and spray evenly downwards. It dries up immediately and you can put your clothes on straight away.

I was a bit worried about getting the spray all over the bathroom so went into the garden to try it out. The second time I used it inside and had no problems. 

Conclusion:

As you can probably see on the photo’s, I have quit a big scar on my left leg, I didn’t bother trying to hide my scar ,thinking it was a good example of the great coverage the spray gives and for me this was one of the things that worried about the most. My legs and body are evenly brown. I’ve used the spray three times and am really happy with the look! I never thought I would say it ,but I love this stuff!

I give L’Oréal Sublime Dry mist a well deserved 10/10

Johnney Depp confirms engagement

If you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it ,because Amber Heard has beat you to it!

On monday 31 of march, Johnney as good as confirmed his engagement to actress Amber Heard in Beijing promoting his new movie, “Transcendence".

When asked if the couple is engaged , he laughed and held up his left hand saying "The fact that I'm wearing a chick's ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle".

Wearing a single (MASSIVE) diamond  on a band. Sources say ,The engagement ring Depp gave Heard, 27, was "too big for her, so he started wearing it.

The duo were first linked shortly after Johnny split with his long time partner and mother of his two children ,Vanessa Paradis.

Finally sun!

Hi there!

Last week the sun decided to make an long awaited appearance. It's hard to believe that this time last year it was freezing in the UK, so this year 

I intend to make the most of every sunny second! My two best friends had made plans to go to a beach bar on sunday and lucky for me, my colleague at work asked me if I wanted to swap shifts(normally I work every weekend). We met up at Jamie's and started the day off with a yummy bbq , drove down to the beach and drank mojito's.

I had been feeling a bit of all week and that night all hell broke lose, I had flu :( But no worries, in the meantime I'm feeling a lot better.

On a sadder note, today is the first anniversary of my dads death, he died of a very aggressive cancer.

He was a great man and I can only hope to become even half of the person he was.
